Plez tell me I'm ok................
Hi guys...........
I'm so sorry to be posting a message like this again, but I'm not feeling well.
This whole week has been horrible for me about eating. I want to say that I've had a sore throat since Thursday too. But besides that I have MAYBE have had 400 calories in the last 3-4 day COMBINED. Not each day. And my fluid intake in pretty much null.
I threw up yesterday moring when I took a few sips of tea. Of course nothing came up, but man I could feel it deep down trying to puke something up.
I have had the dry heaves/gagging since I think Monday. Especially in the morning. Towards the evenings is a little better.
I'm just scared now because I did get dehydrated a few days after surgery and was readmitted, and now my urine is a really dark yellow/almost brown with an oder. I'm soo tired, I'm taking my B-12 and I have NO energy what so ever. My breath smells horrible. I think I need to call my surgeon tomorrow and see whats up. Because now of course my body is in starvation mode and I've had a migraine for 2 days in a row. (Haven't had one since before surgery 2 mo ago, until now)
Any suggestions to help me please????
Please......I don't want to regret having this surgery. I need this too pass. I tried a SF popsicle this evening and it kinda hurt my pouch. But I'm trying to keep fluids in me. I may have had 10 oz of fluid today. When I do eat something I can have about 2 bites and then I get really sick to my stomach and feel the need to throw up.
Thanks for listening~~~
Carmella
I am soooo sorry, Carmella!
It doesn't sound like you're okay at all, despite all of this effort.
I think you DEFINITELY do need to call your surgeon. Why wait until tomorrow? There will be somebody on call right now, and they will be able to give you better suggestions than we will.
Your symptoms sound so much like a stricture. I had one, and I basically stopped being able to hold down food, and then I was unable to hold down even water after a few days. If it is a stricture, there is a very easy and painless fix, so there's no reason to hesitate. You will become dehydrated again if you are unable to keep something down.
Please, do take care of this right away so that you DON'T end up regretting your surgery.
Take care, and let us know what happens!
Julie
Carmella, PLEASE do go get seen, you will probably be readmitted. Amber urine is an indication of dehdration. it's also possible you could have what we call "acute kidney failure." I would call the doc NOW and tell them your symptoms, it's very possible they will tell you to go into an ER tonight. Don't wait till the morning.
