How many??
I saw 2..
The first one was by default. I actually wanted his partner to do my surgery but he was to booked so I ended up with his partner. Him and I butted heads from the get go and he made me feel insecure. He lead me to believe he was inexperienced from his professionalism. He wanted me on a 6 month diet and insurance didn't even need me on this diet. He felt It would do me good! As if I hadn't already tried all these years!
I went to another Dr and after we met it was when I do this and when I do that! not if i do it or if that! He was very professional, I felt confidant and knew in my heart that he was the one to do my surgery.
good luck 2 ya!

Hi Ruth,
I picked my surgeon based on several factors: he has performed over 1000 surgeries, I've met a lot of people who have had him as a surgeon and since I'm a cancer survivor, I specifically sought him out because he has an oncology practice.
If you don't feel comfortable with someone, by all means look elsewhere.
Good luck,
Lisa J
I actually saw 2 surgeons before I made the choice.. The first man I saw was charming but his support staff who handles most of the after care and questions left SO much to be desired. There was no personal touch, no caring or compassion, and honestly, they tended to be rather rude. I felt horrible about myself after my appt with them.. So I opted to see a surgeon who I knew about through friends. He has a great success record, I was very impressed with his office staff, I have great confidence in him as a surgeon and feel very confident in the after care that I will receive..

Ruth,
I actually saw 3 different surgeons before I settled on my current surg. The surgeon I am using was actually the first one I saw. I did later go to see 2 other surg.(ones which were in network for my insurance plan). I chose him because he has a great track record and is willing to do my WLS -RNY lap.instead of open,if it is possible plus he offers a great aftercare program. I feel like he really is the best surg.in my area. I attended WLS support group meetings and a lot of his patients had lots of good and honest things to say regarding the care they recieved from him. Hope this helps!
Hugs,
Lori
