How will you MOVE your body today?
G'morning friends -
This is going to be a quick fly by - Im on my way out the door to do just what my "topic" speaks of..... MOVE my body!!!
Meeting Kim (SunflowerGirl) at the RecCenter for our Deep H20 Classes and I VOW to move twice as much/faster then I normally would/have. I know to burn these calories Im gonna have to get the cardio going, get the heart pumping, and floating around like a MERMAID ain't gonna cut it.
Oh, and guess what?????
Uh, you might wanna sit DOWN for this one (especially those of you that know me WELL and know I hate the "E" word) ...anyway, I went to the GYM yesterday and actually got on ALL of the machines. Every last one of em, including the "E-stepper" can't remember the techie word for it.
Now all that being said? I couldnt do much - 2 reps of 10 on each machine, probably 15 or 20 machines, but it's a START right? LOL, Im still in shock (awe?) with the fact that I went and that I enjoyed it. With the GYM now in my routine, I'll be working out FIVE days a week.
Whod'a ever thunk it? Sooooooooooooooooooo - how about YOU, what will you be doing to MOVE YOUR BODY today?
Hugs to all - Lei
[gloss over the typos, Im in turbo mode]
Hi Leilani,
Hmmm. Well, to be honest here, I hadn't actually planned any movement into my day today, but now that I've read your post, I am going to do something. I know this might sound odd, but I truly hadn't thought of just moving my body as a way of getting started on this exercise thing. I have always been a little overwhelmed by the idea of actual exercise, but now that you put it this way- as just moving my body, I think I can do that. You're great!! This idea is a real inspiration to me. I am going to walk around the house a bit and do some chair exercises. It's a start, and I thank you for your inspiration. Take gentle care.- Shelley C
Sorta OT, sorta not---but back pre-op, when I had a BMI of 75, about the only 'exercise' I could do was something I call 'chair dancing'. Basically, it's sitting in a chair and just moving what you can to the music. (*grin*)
I've always loved to dance, and until my knees gave out at a BMI of around 65, I was still going out to nightclubs and shakin' my booty! Sure, I took up a lot of space on the dance floor---but I could also dance with two or three people at once. (*grin*)
Now, my BMI's down to 45, and I'm cuttin' a rug every chance I get. I keep the music going all day, and I find myself throwing in a few dance steps while watering my plants, feeding the dogs, etc.
Well, I just started a walking program 2 weeks ago. I used to couldn't walk anywhere. Now I am walking 1 mile everyday!!! I don't need to use the electric carts at Wally World either and i go there every single day!! LOL I break my walk up and do it twice for a total of 1 mile. Morning and evening. And I feel wonderful. Yeah, my knees still hurt and breathingis a prob sometimes ( I have PPH), but it makes me fell better!! We are members at the Y, but I have yet to get the courage to face everyone there and get on the machines!!
Toodles,

I hadn't really planned to MOOOOOOOve much today, but I just didn't stop all day... started off doing orientation at hospital (part of the new hire process) and walked AAAALLLLL over the maze that is my hospital... then went to Wally World and shopped for 2 hrs for the stuff for the OHLA! group meeting Sunday
So I did move... even though I didn't plan it
