Question???
I'm curious as to how many pre ops we have in our new community?
Do you have a date for surgery?
Are you waiting for insurance approval?
Are you waiting for your consult?
Do you have an angel?
Where are you in your journey?
What kind of support do you need from the post op's here to help you in you journey.

Okay I understand now. My Dr. did not require me to lose any weight prior to surgery but by following the information I received in my nutrition class I lost 67 lbs pre op. I hope that your Dr's predictions for a date come to pass. If we don't learn anything from our WLS experience ... patience won't be one of them. Feb/March will be here before we know it.

What kind of support do you need from the post op's here to help you in you journey. I enjoy reading their pages to see how the surgery affects different people
I'm a preop, no surgery date yet... waiting for first consult (I work on the postop bariatric unit at my hospital, so I've already met the surgeon). Hoping for a surgical date around Halloween, we'll see!
I would love to be an angel, when someone will have me (and I understand angelettes wanting a postop angel, so I am being patient).
What kind of support? Well I would dearly love an angel from this board... someone who understands where I'm "coming from" and what I've been through... no disrespect to the lightweights... but I think they don't face the same kind of discrimination and despair.
Hi Georgeann!
I am pre-op. I do not have a date as yet. I failed my stress test and have to go back to the cardiologist (8/17/05).
Insurance ****igna-PPO) denied me. Said I don't have enough diet documentation!
I have had my consult and all pre-surgery clearances are completed.
No, I do not have an angel.
I am getting additional diet documentation for the insurance company, and the cardiologist appointment are all I am waiting on at this point. I hate the waiting! I've been at this since January! Grrrrrr!
I love this board! No offense to any "lightweights", but I love this board because I can relate better to the people here (BMI over 50) and they can relate better to me. The rest of the overweight community just doesn't get how much more difficult it is for those of us who are SMO. If I only had 80-100 pounds to lose, I wouldn't be going through all this!
Once I am post-op I am hoping any problems that may arise I can bring it here and have someone say "been there done that, happened with me too".
Huggs,
Ruth
