Whats Your Dream?
hello everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone else has a "dream" item that you have or will purchase after your weight loss? You know.....something that makes your heart smile when you think of it?
Mine is one of those sparkly/shiny/ peasant tops in sage green. (
can you tell i've put a lot of thought into this?) Now mind you.......this isnt my husbands dream item........for some reason he thinks this surgery is going to make me 20 years younger and 5 inches taller......i wont be doing Victorias Secret, trust me!
take care and thanks to everyone for sharing your journey.
hi willby
nice to meet you!
i guess i don't have a specific "dream" item that i'm looking forward to when the weight is gone. with me, it's more about the things i don't want. i have to travel often for my job...i don't want to have to request the seat belt extender on planes; i don't want to see those looks on the faces of other travelers in the gate areas at the airports -- you know the look? they look at me and are wondering if they're gonna be the one stuck sitting beside the fat woman on the plane; i don't want to have to struggle to get in and out of cabs; i don't want to have to request a table at restaurants cause the booths are too small for me; and so on. those are the things i dream about.
and it's going well for me so far. i'm just over six months out, and down 152 lbs. my bmi started at 66, so i've still got a long way to go. but the progress so far is great.
i'm also 48 yrs old, but never been married and have no kids...except 4 legged, furry ones! and i've been overweight my whole life. weighed 80 lbs in the first grade. i've lost hundreds of lbs thru out the course of my life, but always gained back what was lost, and more.
here's hoping this time is different!
best to you.

Ellen,
I dream of being lighter than my husband too but that sucker got his insurance approval before me so he had surgery June 28.. AND... being a man... he is just a couple of pounds under the centure mark so, it is still going to be a very long time before I am lighter than him... but I WILL get there... I was probably 25 pounds heavier than he when we got married and as we kept going up up up. I always kept that 25 pound distance... now he is 92 pounds lighter than me.... PROUD of him but UGGGG.. why is it so hard for us women folks to lose it?????
