Calling Ruth W.
Hi Georgeann!
Well...... I guess, good and bad. Bottom line is I have to have a heart catherization done.
He was very compassionate about my frustrations with everything. He didn't even seem to mind when I got a little emotional.
However, he didn't seem to like some of the answers I gave him as too why things were taking so long, including getting in to see him. I hadn't seen him since my echo and clearance back in February. He told me how to handle getting into see him sooner for future reference.
Anyway, you could tell he genuinely cared, and had me stay there until he could schedule me into a hospital for the procedure (next Wednesday). Even did the PAT's there at the office for it. Took 2 hours out of my work day, but it was well worth it. I'm not too happy about the procedure, but it is necessary, so I will will grin and bear it.
Thank you so much for asking about me!
Huggs,
Ruth
Hang in there, the heart cath is not as bad as it sounds... you're out for it and the only real "pain" is that you have to lay flat for a while following it (depending on the doc it's usually 6-8 hrs without bending the affected leg).
It's worth it though... saves a LOT of pain and hassle later if they can check and possibly stent the arteries then and there instead of having to do cardiac bypass grafting.
