sleep apnea
I have to say that I thought there was absolutely NO WAY I had sleep apnea, and it was all a big racket to raise more money by forcing me to have the sleep study. Yes, I was tired all the time. Yes, I did fall asleep while stopped in traffic, and during meetings, etc. But there's no way I had sleep apnea. I don't know why I was so adamant about it, but I was.
During my sleep study, I was found to have 172 interruptions PER HOUR, with the longest one lasting almost 2 MINUTES. My O2 levels dipped into the 60's, and averaged in the mid to low 70s. That sleep study saved my life. CPAP sucks, but dying sucks more.
I still use my CPAP. My doctor says I may never be able to wean from it completely.
Bobbie and others, if you have been dignoised and are awaiting PLEASE take this very serious! I did'nt and almost died a few weeks back, I was dignoised almost 2 years ago, never got the c-pap do to no insurance nor money to get, so I went on w/ my everyday things and then my first stay in hospital they pushed the c-pap machine which I recieved and then my father passed away so of course this c-pap wasnt a important thing to me to much road travel to worry about taking c-pap w/ me well the next thing I know on a Sunday morning 4am I fell at home dont know If I tripped or passed out, just know once I got this big body up off the floor I was really having trouble breathing (already had breathing problems), my boyfriend rushed me to ER, next I remember is waking up in the MICU in the hospital, they told me I almost died by the time they figured my problem my blood gasses were tripl the normal person C2O was 144 whenis to be in the 40's so if I dont use my c-pap I will die until I get the weight off so PLEASE take this serous dont play with your lives get your treatments and stick to them religiously. Hugs to all.
