Yes please keep posting on this subject here?
I just recieved my referral from my PCP to the Surgeon I wanted.
I was once 740#s but on Weigh****chers in four years made it to
500#s But this past year put 100#s back on. Lots of stress, that's
my main problems but am working to cut them out.
Now starting this WLS Journey at about 600 pounds.

Marlena,
Welcome to the OH boards!! I didn't weigh 500 when I had surgery, but I did weigh around 450 the year before I am 5ft 2 in tall. I went on Atkins lost down to 397 and gained back to 418 real quick. Then I had surgery. (at 418) You will find if you stick around a bit that nost of your questions will be answered, just by "listening". This is really a great place to be. I fully understand wanting to be around your 'peers'. It seems like those that start out at 250 just don't get the same issues as we do that start at 400+. I will tell you that I have been suprised by 'lightweights' *****ally "get it". Because they DO go through most of what we go thru, just shorter time, and are therefore very empathetic (sic?) to others like us.

hi marlena:
i started around 450 lbs at surgery.
had a laparoscopic rny on feb. 8, 2005 and would do it again in a heartbeat.
this forum is a wonderful place for questions and support. i spent the first six months of my journey after surgery on the mn board, and will continue to go there - but - am finding a special type of empathy on this board. hard to explain.
anyway, ask away. my email is [email protected] if you want to email directly. but if you post, any and all readers can chime in with helpful insights and answers, too.
hugs
