Hi everyone, I am 48 years old and my Mom is 76. we were at the hospital today for my moms cataract..........and she somehow felt the need to announce to a WHOLE elevator full of people..... "YOU SURE ARE SWEATING, BRIDGET" (Gee Mom, thanks for pointing that out.......but i dont think the people on the 10th floor heard you.) MOTHERS...You cant live with them and you cantthem. Take care everyone and THANK you each and everyone for being here!! Bridget

I think your mom and my dad must be related! He's always doing/saying things like that! Like you said.... can't live with them...... can't them! Huggs, Ruth

Hi Bridget, I'm sorry for how you must have felt after she said that in the elevator, but surely she was just concerned about you and had your best interest at heart After my walk tonight my hubby told me I had a sweat mustache and I told him I'm not the only sweaty one(since he was too) Take care. hi bridget: you and your mom must be living in my parallel universe. same ages, same personalities, i don't know how she does it, but my mom can always find the EXACT wrong thing to say at the wrong time. does everyone have moms like this are are we just blessed??? i have told myself, in the past and almost daily since, that the best way i can deal with my mom is to not do that to my kids. i work at it - alot. and yet i still sometimes 'channel' my mother. have a great day, girl. try to enjoy her while she's still around (i lost my dad a couple months ago). and if you can't enjoy her, avoid her. it may not be the best solution but it works for me. hope you enjoy your week. hugs dorthe

Dorhte, OMGoddess!!! there CANT be 2 of them in this world. CAN THERE??? You are soooooooooo right.........I am hyper-vigilant to NOT say/do things to my kids that will embarrass them...............MOST of the time And I cant avoid her..........SHE LIVES WITH US I mostly love her, but sometimes.........one day.........A one way trip to the moon Alice!! bridget

Oh...you can them alright! Then these real nice people with pretty uniforms and shiny badges come and put silver bracelets on you and take you to a cozy room with bars and you have new friends named Bull & Monster & Tiny. And you get to spend lots and lots of time with your new friends. Just being silly, Bridget....hang in there. Sometimes moms forget to think before they speak. Next time tell her..."No Mom, I'm glistening." Peggy ~A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step~

Peggy, WOW! I never thought of it that way before. You mean there ARE options? Loved your "glistening" suggestion. If I saw a 323 pound woman red faced and pouring with sweat........the LAST thing I would want to do is provoke her!!!! Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it!! Take care. Bridget
