DOVE Ads
Have you all seen the new ads for Dove lotions? They feature "real women," and I think it's great! Of course, they are not "real women" like us, but definitely not pencil thin supermodels. They look like they could be your friends or coworkers. If you go to dove.com, the ad comes up. I saw an interview with one of the models (second from right in the group shot) and she seems like a sweet girl. She said after the ad came out, she wewnt to a modeling agency looking for work and they told her, "Sorry, we are not looking for plus-size models." Well, here's the kicker........She's 5'8" and a size 6. Plus size gets smaller and smaller! Just though that was amusing.

i have seen the ads, carrie. i think they're great, too, and a long time in coming. i saw the models being interviewed on the today show and it was so nice to see - as you said - 'real women'. i even tried the dove products in support of the company, since i really value the ads personally. and my daughters, of course, were way ahead of the curve (no pun intended), using dove products before i ever tried them.
thanks for sharing. just thinking about those models makes me smile.
have a good one

Deb,
Hi. I am doing fine, I think. I am 3 weeks today and I have lost 35+ pounds. I am still really tired, and I have an infection on my largest incision (the long incision for the hernia repair) but it seems to be clearing up with antibiotics. I am tolerating beef well (OKd by nut since I don't do fish, chicken, cottage cheese or eggs and my nut says no beans for 6 months because of the fiber content) and I eat filet mignon every day. It does get a little better every day. I guess I will probably be going back to work in 2 or 3 weeks.
