Hi everyone.... Today is a busy day for me. I have a paper due for my Art History class and with everything that is going on, I've been remiss in getting ready for it. I have approximately 3200 words to have done by 11:55 tonight. Thankfully I have my research in hand, now to get organized! Last night I was pretty inert. However, I did have enough energy to do dishes and make myself some dinner. Pasta with sauce and a poached chicken breast. I have some leftovers for dinner when I get home late tonight. Still no luck on finding a place to weight me. I hope I don't have to resort to going to a hospital and asking them. Oh! News, I got a call from the case manager at Cigna a very nice woman Kathy Z. She had suggested I call her after the informative meeting at the OTC. I hadn't had a chance to do so yesterday, so she gave me a call. She wanted to know how things had gone. She still wasn't up on the specifics for WLS that Cinga requires, but she was a pleasant voice. I determined that until I have my intake there's no point in taking up a Case Manager. She suggested that after my intake that I call her for an evaluation. She also advised me to speak with my PCP about getting some documentation started on physician supervised weight loss. Nutritionists don't count, it seems. So -- this is good news, I am seeing my PCP on the 6th. Told my boss what I was embarking on. He was very upbeat, very positive. I told him how much time I could possibly be out and he only asked that I schedule it around our busy times. So come October, I'll be banking more of my earned time to my sick pool. I figure I am going to need 4 to 6 weeks worth. The good news is that for each earned time hour I get, when I bank to sick time I get 3 hours. Unfortunately I have to use up all my earned time before I can get at my sick time. So that's all the news about me today...how about you? Anne in NH (410)/379/?/140 Pre-Op

Hi Anne, Sounds like you're one busy lady! Don't know how you fit it all in. Regarding a weight scale, I had the same problem finding one and went to the local renal dialysis center for 4 months, before finding a scale on EBay that weighs up to 440 lbs. It cost me $38.50 plus shipping and I love it. No more stepping on that huge wheelchair scale in front of people. I wish I'd found it sooner. If that's something you think you'd want just type 440 LB DIGITAL TALKING BATHROOM SCALE in the seach field and it will show the scale I'm talking about. Best wishes Myra

Find a nearby bariatric surgeon's office and ask if they'll let you just step on for a min?

Anne, I also replied on the NH boasr, but I will here again in case it can help someone else. I bought a scale a couple weeks ago at Bed Bath & Beyond (I went to the one in Hooksett) and got a digital BMI scale for $40 (actually less because I had a 20% off coupon from the paper). It is super accurate. I weighed myself before going for check-up and it was exactly the same as surgeons scale. It will even remember your weight from the last time (for up to 4 people). It is a Homedics brand and it has a 400 pound capacity. Carrie

I have the talking scale, too, and it is great. It is always within a couple of ounces of my surgeon's digital scale. I got mine at Amazon for $75 +shipping=$90, so the ebay price is super. I love mine, weigh every day. I couldn't deal with the whole going to the dr to weigh every time thing!! Drove me crazy. Now I weigh every day--I know it's not the best idea, but it works for me. Good luck. Hugs, Vicki -116 incl pre op loss
