Being through this process before, I would say to be fully mentally prepared as I wasnt years before... but hey I'm still pre-op so the other lovely post-op members could probably steer you well... but either way.... I'm glad you found us!!!!!!

Hey Kwheen, Well my insurance info just got sent in literally days ago! I'm told by my surgeons office, that my insurance typically takes about 2 weeks to approve... but thats in one ear and out the other for me...lol... All it means is that I have to wait a few days before I start bugging the ins. co for approval!!!! But once approved, I'll probably have surgery end of September/early Oct.... Hopefully!

Soule, that is great. Ya know you gotta stay on them cause sometimes just dont you know................get the job done. So maybe you'll be having the surgery around the same time as myself. Hi Kweeen, My mom lives in Inglewood! Welcome to the boards and I am also a former lurker...good to come out of the closet isn't it? Congrats on your surgery date...how are you feeling the closer it gets? My hubby's surgery date is on Oct. 11 in San Diego. Where are you having yours?

My surgery will be at USC Hospital. I am not really nervous yet. I'm just a little anxious to have the surgery done. It feel good to finally come out of lurk mode. I should have done it sooner. It's like someone let me out. So, now that I'm out I probably always be on here. So, your mom stays in the wood too huh? Kwheen

HI Kwheen, Congrats on your upcoming surgery date. The best advice I could think of was not to worry. You can drive yourself crazy trying to get everything done before surgery... just take it one day at a time. All I was really concerned about was making sure my house was clean when I went to the hospital so that when I got home I wouldnt be tempted to try to do any.. and to make sure I had clean sheets on my bed.. I love crawling into a bed with fresh washed sheets.. and that didnt really matter when I got home anyway because I couldnt lay on my bed.. I slept on the couch the first week....lol... Just keep in mind even though you may feel rough the first couple of days after surgery .. you get to feeling better fast.. That was my experience anyway.. It was like the recovery doubled.. if that makes any sense.. say I felt like 0% coming out of surgery.. by the next day I felt 25 % better and by the next day I felt 75% by day 3 I was ready to go home and feeling 150% better ...
