New to board

Hello everyone. My name is Sandra and I live in Owensboro, Ky. I am so happy to find this board. It seems like everyone I've met only needs to lose about 100 pounds with this surgery(RNY). My BMI is 59.1. And I need to lose about 250 pounds. I've been trying for over 2 years to obtain WLS. My insurance has an exclusion policy. I've appealed it without success. A friend had her surgery paid for my Vocational Rehab and I've been working with them for over a year. First, they could not find a hospital to accept their payment(they do not pay full price) and everything was put on hold. Now, they have agreed to increase their payment and I'm going through the process again of finding a hospital. I'm hoping to go to Georgetown. Anyone know anything about them? They do all their surgeries laparascopically. Anyway, it's great to meet people who are super obese like me and fighting the battle of obtaining WLS. I look forward to talking with you. hi sandra: welcome to the board. i understand exactly what you're saying. i started out needing to lose somewhere between 250 and 300 lbs. this particular forum really comes in handy at times. i can't help you with hospitals, unless you come to mn. but i wish you all the luck in the world. keep trying. take care dorthe

Hi Sandra, I too want to welcome you here. I also had over 200lbs to lose. I hope we can all be an inspiration to each other one way or another. I just love this board. Just wait till you see how everyone makes you laugh out loud. I wish we could get together and meet to exchange our stories. If I can be of any help to you, feel free to email me.
