Two questions ... need some help ...
Morning to everyone,
I've two questions and I know someone here can help with the answers.
First ... I need to relate a little history for me, then you'll understand my 1st question better...
When I was 5 (back in the olden times) I was a very silly little girl who ate a whole bottle of Baby Aspirins one afternoon. This was back in the 50's (yes, I'm THAT old!), when parents didn't rush their children to the ER, but used "home remedies" to "fix" problems ... I'm sure SOME of you relate to that. My dad's answer to the problem this time was to give me this raw-egg, mustard, and various-other-foul-mixtures concoction to drink. Result? I up-chucked horrible "chalky-Baby-Aspirin-orange-mustard-raw egg-and-whatever-else" yuck all the rest of the day. The concoction did what it was supposed to do, but, needless to say, it left an impression on me. I've NEVER been able to stand the smell or taste of Baby Aspirins (or anything else that smells or tastes that way) again.
Ok ... end of story and on to my problem(s)...
Has anyone noticed what flavor and consistency most chewable supplements are today? Chalky, Orange (ie. BABY ASPIRIN!). I've been struggling through my chewable vitamins, but CALCIUM is whole nother story entirely. The chewables are so big (!) and getting them down is a nightmare ... if I even CAN get it down, it's a fight with my body to keep it down.
question 1:
Can anyone recommend a calcium supplement that isn't a chalky chewable ... that isn't 3 inches in circumference ... that doesn't take 3 hours to munch your way through ... that works and absorbs well for a 5 month post-op like me.
I know this is getting long, but please bear with me?
This leads me on to question 2.
Has anyone else had a problem with teeth darkening in color after surgery? I'm noticing a definite dark cast happening to my teeth, and no amount of whitening toothpaste is helping.
I tossed the second question into this post because I have this nagging suspicion the reason my teeth are darkening is tied into the calcium issue.
Anyone have answers or similar problem with their teeth? Anyone have the same problem with BABY ASPIRINS? (naaaah.... don't answer that ... just trying to be funny! yuk yuk)
thanks friends,
Myra
