Carrie, I am just going back to work tomorrow, and I had surgery in the middle of July. I am NOW just starting to get my energy back. The first six weeks are the worst (and I believe it). BTW, does your BF know that you are not supposed to lift anything over 5-10#? Do you want a hernia above everything else? Oh, yeah, ditto what everybody said about your BF! Darla

Darla, Thanks. When I had my surgery, my doctor discovered a huge hernia from a previous c-section (he said probably sue to doing too much after) and my surgery was over 6 hours. The surgeon warned that it may not heal properly because he was not able to use mesh, and, guess what, it didn't! The hernia has reopened. It really only hurts when I bend over or streth, so I am going to wait for the repair. I suspected he was lazy, but thanks for the confirmation! I think I am going to wait a couple more weeks before going back to work. His idea of helping with the laundry is helping me carry it, but it is still heavy lifting the bags, putting in the dryers, etc., but if I was single (as I usually am), I'd be doing it myself anyway, so what am I going to do? Anyway, thanks for the support! Carrie

I'm reading this a bit late but all I can think of is dump his a**. It took me longer as well but I'm doing great now. Don't expect your body to accept all this quickly, it takes time and each of us adapt at a different rate.
