I am allergic to Nutrasweet. I have tried Splenda and have also had a reaction. I thought it was in my head (who could have such bad luck?) But I looked it up and people have had reactions and side effects to Splenda as well... So my question is............What can I use as a sweetener? I've always been allergic to honey and I am a diabetic....

Hi Chik, I have not tried this personally, but I found it on a website when I was ordering vitamins. It's a product called Stevia; it's actually a plant extract, and it says it is safe for diabetics. It also says: does not contain saccharin, nutrasweet, aspartame, refined sugar, maltodextrin, fructose, artificial sweetners of any kind. It is also calorie free. It apparently comes in packets and liquid concentrate. Like I said I haven't tried it, but it's something to consider, and their prices are reasonable. If you want to check it out, just go to the website and enter "Stevia" in the search box in the left corner of the screen. The website is http://www.doctorstrust.com Good Luck and if you try it, let me know how it is, Tanja
