hi jeremy: welcome to the board. my bmi was 65 but i agree with a prior post. after your bmi goes above 50, the issues are pretty much alike. so feel free to post any questions, concerns, insights or chuckles. have a good one dorthe

Hi Sipele, How are you this morning?? I just read your profile. You certainly are a cutie! can I take you home with me? I can totally relate to your story..even if I am probably old enough to be your mom....I've been married 25 years!!..that's scarey You are so sweet. My hubby takes care of me too for many years and most of the time I feel guilty for not helping out as much (income wise) as I should. That is one of the main reasons why I am trying to get this surgery. Take care! You have inspired me to work on my own profile. Your posts are a hoot!Virginia

LOL!!! Thank you, Virginia! And I would be happy to go to your home... you have chocolate, right??? 25 years! Congradulations! Most days I hope mine will last as long... somedays I want to pull my hair out. As for the age, my husband IS old enough to be my father... he is actually older than my father! I don't think it matters though... I still feel older than him... I swear he is really 12 and stuck in a grown ups body! I have to have this surgery... there is no way I'm going to let him wait on me all my life... ooohhhh, noooo sirrreeee! I have been going through all of my pics... trying to find one that doesn't make me look like such a whale... no luck yet! Silly me, I'm a little bit of a perfectionist... so I am writing out my profile on Word then will cut and paste it when I'm finished... don't want to make to many spelling mistakes. I can't wait to read your profiile. Take care... (((Hugs))) SipeleK

Jeremy, My BMI was 83 and is now 68.4. I have a LONG ways to go! Several have said that the issues for people with a BMI of over 50 are pretty much the same... I respectfully have to say that is NOT the case. I have to get down to 301 pounds to be a BMI of 50.1. I am now 411 and started at 499 pounds. I am here to tell you, weighing 499 pounds I have VERY DIFFERENT issues than I did at 301 pounds. At 301 pounds I played competetive volleyball and softball. I golfed and walked 18 holes OFTEN and on occassion would play an extra 9 holes for good measure. At a BMI of 50 I could shop in any store that had women's sizes and at a BMi of 83 I had to order all of my clothes from Lane Bryant Tent and Awning and then could only get some of the things that they sold because I had to have at least a 4X and sometimes a 5X or even 6X in some things. I could go on and on about the differences in a BMI of 50 and a BMI of 83. The bottom line is at 301 pounds I never hurt unless I did something crazy like had a bad wipe out skiing. At 499 pounds every inch of my body hurt every minute of every day. I don't mean to come across as argumentative to the folks who stated that once you are over a BMI of 50 we all deal with the same stuff but I CAN'T WAIT to get back to having only a 50 BMI!!!! Patti

I agree with you, I wish I was at a 50 BMI - I would only weigh 280 - I haven't weighed 280 since jr high. When I weighed 280 I played vollyball and danced and I ran the mile in phys. ed. now it is a chore to get up in the morning. The 200 ft from my car to the office damn near kills me anymore, my partner has to pull me up off the couch, I cannot lay in the bathtub anymore because I cannot get back out, shopping for clothes is reduculous, I don't shop at Layne Bryant but I do shop at www.Kingsizedirect.com it is mens only but that it what I am comfortable in. If I only weighed 280 - I don't even know... But I can't wait to be at a 50 BMI. Thank you for your comment....

Hey, Jeremy, mine was in the 80's and is now in the 60's, thank goodness. Happy to answer any questions you might have. I lost 39 prior to surgery and now have lost a total of 120. I feel so much better and have had no complications. Please, let me know how I can help. Hugs, Vicki
