What about a roll call?

I really am new to all this posting stuff, but I notice that on the main board they will have 'roll calls', and I assume that they are just fun thingys to see who all's out there, right? I have posted a few times on it. What are the rules for having one? Are there rules? Can we have roll calls on this board or is there a reason why it should just be kept to the main board? Thanks for being patient with me, and sorry if this is a real stupid question, but I have been enjoying myself so much with all of you here on this board that I haven't been going to the main board as much and I kinda miss the roll call thingy! Just wondering????? Blessings!

Hi Cynthia, I've seen the roll call things on the main message board too, but I rarely go there and have never participated in one. I only come here pretty much. But if I had to guess, I would say that we can have a roll call here if we want, and I don't think there are any rules other than the ones we already follow. So, I'm just checking in... I'm here, present and accounted for! Tanja

A roll call is just checking to see who is out there. Sometimes they do roll calls for ex: all people that had surgery on a certain day. But we can have the SMO Sisters roll call and our mascot can be or but definitly not !!!!! Shall we vote on a mascot???????? Anyways, Im here-cant sleep so Im hanging with you! Hugs, Sue

Hi There: I am fairly new to the board, but have been off a couple of days. Was real thrilled to find a face-to-face support group. Thanks to one of you letting me know about bariatric support. My husband and I went to the meeting in Bellingham, WA Monday night. It was an unusual support meeting in that there was a speaker from San Francisco there. She is a part of Pacific Laporoscopy. Most of the members were post of Duodenal Switch, also a surgery I had not heard of before, and found it interesting to hear about. The people there were very welcoming and there was one woman newly arrived from Spokane that had RNY. Another thing they had was a scale which could tell you how much your fat weight was and how much muscle mass weight. Now I know why Ms Batt says the DS is such a good surgery. One man has lost 220# in ten months. But, these people all went to San Francisco to have their surgery. I almost forgot, I am reporting into roll call. Santina saying "Hi"
