ok here is my get ready speech. I filled my house with sf jello, already made up so I wouldnt have to do it. The sf ice pops, not the fudge or choc coated, just the ice pops in the beginning. Broth, cream soups, lots of those cause I loved them. chewable vits. flavored water with no fizz. I stayed away from juice cause of the natural sugar in it. the protein I enjoyed was called World Wide protein RTD. I loved the choc flavor. A year later thats the only one I really enjoy and drink one or 2 a day. I tried the powered stuff, but dont like it as well. I did a lot of cottage cheese in the blender and added sweetner and cinnamin to it for flavor. That is pretty much it for a few weeks. I did mashed potatoes after 2 or 3 weeks. But to this day I dont touch anything with added sugar, or white flour. So far it seems to work for me. It is hard every single day. I crave for a candy bar, but I chose not to do it. Its mind over matter. Any thing else, feel free to ask. Soos

I had Susan Maria's book.... and I followed her recipes for protein shakes.... lots of variety and flavors.... we still have taste buds after all... and I was determined that if I could only have a small amount... it was going to be the best damn stuff I ever tasted. For the first two weeks after surgery I was on clear liquids.... that meant popsicles, apple or cranberry juice, iced green tea (my personal fav). Then for the next two I moved to full liquids... including sherbet, cream soups.... milk, ectc Don't buy too much of any of this... one can of each is enough.... you will be surprised how quick the time goes.... not at the time of course!!!! Instant mashed potatoes.... pureed soups (bought one of those hand blenders that convert just about anything into liquid)... as my doc said, if you can't get it through a straw - I don't want it in your stomach at this point. ... but not all docs are this strict... check with your doc for protocol B
