Question for you all...
Hi Everyone,
Since I am SMO (aka: extra Fluffy!). I really have a hard time standing for a long period of time in fact when I get a shower in the morning I am in soooooo much pain from standing. I just feel like I going to fall over.
Can anyone recommned where I can get a shower chair? I am sure that I am going to need it for a little while after surgery as well.
Thank you so much!
Monica F.
Hi Monica,
I believe I have one in my storage room, but Im not sure if I got rid of it or not. I will check and let you know as soon as I can get out there and look around. If I do, You can certainly borrow it. We live close enough. I will let you know by Monday. I cant get in there cause it is all full of furniture and have to wait till my son comes over to check. Ill let you know.

Hi Monica
Extra fluffy here too!
I have been looking at http://www.amplestuff.com/ for the same reason. Lots of great products. Check them out!

Hi Monica,
Whenever I need something like that, I always look on
www.drugstore.com . If you just go to the home page and then type in "bathroom safety" in the search box in left upper corner, it should bring up a variety of shower chairs. I checked it out for you; I suppose I could have provided a direct link to this page - sorry. Anyway, I thought I saw something about free shipping for orders over $25.00 too - not certain, though. Hope you can find something.
Take Care,
Tanja
Hi everybody!
Something that is really nice for people like us with lots of skin folds and knicks and cranies---is a hand held shower massage.
I was surprized how easy it was for me to watch my husband install.....well, I cheered him onward anyway!
Just a thought for pre-ops because there may be some "parts" that you may want to avoid getting too wet after surgery. It feels so good to get that power stream going just where I want it to be. The
doesn't do it for me!! Was I graphic enough for everybody?? As a side note..
I heard tale that a couple of the male strippers from the other night, offered to help Monica out...I mean somebody had an extra
for her!!! You never know what will happen on the SMO message board
Smiles to all!

I had/have the same problem...
My uncle gave me a heavy metal stool he used in his garage and I used that sucker for years. Never rusted. Before that cause of finances, I tried a plastic ottoman like at Wallymart and wrapped it in a garbage bag.
Even with my wt loss I still have a bad back and need to sit on occassion.
I have a long shower nozzle too with a high water pressure for hard to reach places too.

Hey Monica!!!!!
Absoutly use the shower chair. I was 400lbs coming home and I used my chair for over a week and then I was able to stand on my own. Sorry I don't live closer, I'd let ya borrow mine.
Check out garage sales or your local bargin hunter, mini merchant....ect. If you buy one it will probably run you atleast 60 bucks if not more. I check garage sales/goodwill first to get one cheap!!!!
Good luck on your up coming surgery!!!
