So Sick of my clothes!
virginia,
I actually missed work(!!) because I didnt have any clothes to wear and my one and only pair of jeans had a blow-out. (thats when i was a lot younger when you couldnt find plus-sized clothing) If the store didnt have size 52 mens jeans......i didnt go out.
You guys wont need this advice much longer......but when i get a new pair of pants i patch them on the inside thigh (inside the pants of course) before i start to wear them.that way when the things do wear out you have a whole nother layer of material to go. we SMO sisters are soooooooooo resourceful!!
willby
I totally understand the blow out problems
I have a couple of pairs of pants that need patching right now so I guess I will work on that tomorrow. I refuse to buy anything new. I could use some things but I am stubborn and refuse cause surgery is in November and the way I look at it I will NOT be needing my summer clothes anymore and thanks to sweat pants and drawstring pants my "winter" wardrobe will carry me through till spring and then I can get a few things and can't wait till summer to wear shorts again. I've not worn shorts since I was 16 and boy are my legs white you can see them coming at night in a dark alley and it could blind ya so be sure to wear shades
Willby thanks for the tip about patching them on the inside before wearing them out I'm gonna do that to the ones I have that have hardly been worn. Soon we SMOers won't have to worry about this we can all wear jeans that zip and form fitting shirts and get some sun!!

Hi Virginia!
I am so with you on that whole post! I have the same problem with pants wearing out on the inside. I have patches in a pair of pants and a pair of capris. Other than that I have one other pair of pants I can wear!!! I agree most of the stuff out there is not cute or flattering and I HATE how short the shirts have been lately!! What the heck ever happened to a nice tunic length shirt? I too can not wait to have nice clothes again! We'll be there soon!

Hi Jacie!
Your face seems new to the board so I check-out your profile..I hope you don't mind. I feel your frustration with the medical community!! I too have had to fight and claw my way to get this far on my wls "battle". I hope that you'll feel welcome here on his BMI over 50 board..it is absolutely the best!! I think all of us feel at times that we are invisible to others "skinny people" oh, and especially "skinny insurance people" and "skinny doctors" Don't worry, we all have issues in all kinds of departments! My story sounds very similar to yours--I just need to fill out my profile so I can really share where I have been since January. I agree with you about the length of the shirts now a days. I don't want to reach-up and show everything that I was trying to hide!! You are right, wls is coming right aroound the corner..until then, we will be trying to pull and stretch our shirts after every washing. and keep patching those perfectly good pairs of pants....oh, and don't forget to try to keep the leggs crossed so peeps can't see our patches as easy right??
Smiles to you,
Virginia
