Rosacea and WLS
Ok here is my question/dilemma(sp) I have been to a dermatologist and they say the redness in my face is Rosacea and have given me cream for it. My problem is any change in temperature, hot spicy foods or sometimes it just flares up on its own. Well I've decided to join Curves and see how that goes for me, but it is so embarrasing to just walk a few steps and have my face be flaming red. Not like it isn't bad enough for these poor people to see my fluffy rearend coming through the door LOL So I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem
and if so what you did to lighten the redness other than makeup don't want to wear that while exercising and sweating. After surgery has it gone away?? I never had this problem till I was SMO
but I do know of thin people
who have the same problem. Well thanks for listening to my craziness
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and thanks in advance for any help you can give on this!
Anita
Anita,
I have Rosacea as well. I wear makeup all the time so it doesn't bother me for the most part. I do have medication for it called Metrogel that is better than any cream I ever tried.
I just recently had WLS (August 2) and am down a total of 92 pounds from my all time high... and I don't notice any difference in the redness of my face. It would be nice if it went away but I really don't know if it will or not because as you say, there are thin people with this condition as well.
Good luck!

hi anita:
i used to go to curves and turned bright red at the blink of an eye. i still turn red really easily, but not quite as quickly after i've lost the 100 some pounds. it may get better. (cross your fingers) i used to think my red face was from hot flashes but my sister has rosacea, too, so that's probably the same for me.
good luck and have fun at curves.
hugs
