I am coming to all of my friends here on the message boards in hopes that someone can give me some additional guidance regarding skin yeast infections in those skin folds.... Gross, I know! However, I venture to guess that many of us have had them at one point or another... I thought I knew "everything" about them... keep the skin clean and dry, use nystatin powder twice a day.. and when all else fails, use oral fluconazole a couple of times... and all of the rashes heal up.... right? NOT!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been doing all of that... and things are not getting better.. in fact they are getting worse! Has anyone else experienced stubborn skin yeast infections in the skin folds.. and if so, what have you done that is different than what I have mentioned above?!?! I really appreciate your thoughts on this!! Sandy

You might want to try Vitamin E Oil. Usually it heals me up within a 24 - 48 hour period. I just stick a pin hole in the capsule and squeeze it on the affected area. It also works well for skin chaffing and irritations. Georgeann

I once had a yeast infection under my breast. My NP suggested I try Monistat cream before trying a prescription cream. The Monistat worked wonderfully because it is meant to clear up yeast infections. Good luck and let us know how you're doing. Mercy

try Balmex, you'll find it in the diaper rash section in the store. actually anything with zinc oxide will work. i had developed a bad rash that wouldn't go away due to being a diabetic (unknown to me at the time), and I went back to the doctor's several time. My doctor wasn't available, so I saw the physician's assistant, who told me I didn't need to take the other medications, just to use balmex. it worked (in a few days, not instant as I had hoped), now at first signs of a rash, I use it and haven't suffered since.

When it acts up real bad I use Mycolog cream which is a prescription. I also use the oral fluconazole capsule along with it. But if I catch it early it works well. If it gets out of control it takes time but I still keep using the cream. In between however, I have found the only powder that works for me is called Ammens. Someone suggested that and it really helps me. Good luck, Sue

Sandy, I know this sounds crazy... I personally can't stand all those creams and powders and stuff... just seems to make matters worse for me... what I have found works best when I am at the end of my rope... particularly hate the odor that comes with these things... I just try 1/2 cup of bleach in my bath water. Wash and dry... and if you can lay in front of a fan for a few minutes hold folds up so can air dry... amazing, maybe silly but true.... i noticed I got a lot fewer of these also when I was swimming in a pool... carried it over to my personal bath... has worked wonders for my acne as well. Good luck B
