y i was mia (kinda long story)

sorry i haven't been checking in lately, kiddies. my weekend from hell came and went - in point of fact this has been a year from hell and it doesn't seem to want to end anytime soon. quick recap: friday nite my daughter's first visit home from college - she took daughter #2 along to the homecoming game, along with friend from college and daughter #2's friend. the younger kids came home after the game, the older kids went back out and partied. saturday a.m. we watched 'meet the fockers' and laughed our a$$es off, hubby went for a cycle ride on his harley - didn't get bac****il 7 p.m. in the afternoon we went shopping for birthdays since both daughters had their birthdays last week. daughter #1 went back to college around 5 and i headed out to w(h)ine club. several of the neighbors get together to drink and compare wines as well as husband's faults, kids adventures, you name it. while at wine club, dh invited all the husbands and kids over to our house and grilled for them all. he was still sober and no one else had eaten all day, so they were for the most part not sober. sunday morning i was up very early to put a turkey in the oven. my MOTHER had decided she wanted to celebrate all the birthdays, including my father's _he passed away in july_so she invited half a dozen people to my house - seeing as how two of my kids had birthdays and one of my godchildren did, too. boiled down to sunday for lunch i had a dozen people here and cooked up a big turkey dinner with all the fixings plus a birthday cake. and i couldn't even taste it all to make sure it would be good. everyone told me it was good stuff, so i was relieved. by the time all had left at about 5, i was zonked. i fell asleep at 6, woke up at 8, tried to watch the emmys, and ended up falling asleep again at 9. i was so glad to go to work this morning. at least there i could get some rest. my daughter's taking driver's ed this week so she has to be dropped off and picked up at 6 and 9 mon through thurs this week as well as mon and tues next week. i don't honestly know what's on for next weekend but i'm sincerely hoping it's not much. thanks for letting me ramble guys. again, sorry i've been neglecting the board but i honestly had very little time for anything since end of last week. glad to hear everyone's good news, hope y'all had a great weekend. and i'll try really hard to be here again tomorrow. hugs to all dorthe
