Hi everyone, Does anyone know of a Kaiser facility, S. California, that has a scale capable of weighing a very heavy person? My hubby is going with a need to weigh himself to see if he's lost any weight, as he gets closer to the surgery date? Thanks, Vi

I don't live in CA.. but I would suggest a WLS surgeon's office. They are usually very nice about letting you come in and get weighed. Larger hospitals have the big scales and so do rehab centers. Hope this helps. I just had to find a place myself and it was no fun... Good Luck!

OMG! I know how hard it is to find a scale to be weighed on. I had to call ER's in the area and ask if I can come in and weigh myself.... how embarrassing! Especially when the intake nurse comes in to "make sure everything is okay," yeah right! You just know they are taking bets behind the door! Anyway... I don't live in your area but I found some scales online that are a reasonable price and weigh up to 455lbs or 550lbs. It will be nice to have it handy and he wouldn't go thourgh the embarrassment I did. Goodluck and wish him my best! SipeleK http://www.saveonscales.com/digital_bathroom_body_fat_scales.html

Hi Vi, After 5 months of going to a local dialysis center to weigh, I actually found a scale on EBAY that weighs up to 440 lbs. It was $38.50, is a talking scale and works great! Just type in "talking weight scale" in the search area and you should see the one I bought come up ... they were very plentiful. Best of luck. Myra

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Because of you all...we are purchasing the scale at saveonscales.com and DUH I called the emergency room at the hospital and they referred me to the Health Education dept, who has a scale that goes up to 600lbs. My hubby is going this afternoon to be weighed...now the hard part...I hope he has lost some other wise he is going to be soooo discouraged. Again thanks all and keep your fingers crossed for him!
