I HATE my job...

Hey Everybody, I know that Hate is a strong word and I don't use it much except for when it comes to my job. I guess you can say that all the years of being treated like dirt are really getting to me. And I don't just mean at my job I mean in general by people at the office. It's amazing how HORRIBLE people treat us SMO or as I like to say Extra Fluffy! Oh Yippee - I am at my job which I totally hate - fun, fun, fun. I am so not happy with my company right now no raise for next year again ( I swear its because of my weight & health probelms), no cover for WLS. I can't wait to get healthy and get the heck out of here. I guess companies just don't realize that no raise for two years plus insurance costs going up and the cost of living I am losing alot of money staying at this job. I think that they know they have me by the Bleep. I mean for me its actually getting to the point where I am an emotional wreck on Sunday nights. I just want to eat and eat my problems away with work. I know its not the right thing to do thats why I am here. I always get in a real bad spot on sunday nights. Sigh. Its just so frustrating because you know that deep in your mind and in your heart you deserve to not only better pay (which I know its lower because I am so overweight), but you know they are using you. Isn't that the most awful feeling in the world??? Plus I can't leave because I need to earn a living and I need the crappy insurance that they offer me. I will just keep praying for the day that I feel well enough and have lost enough weight that I know I can get a better job. I know that the grass is not greener on the other side. But a fresh start at a new company will really help. Thanks for listening, Monica F.

Hey Monica, You go girl!!! Vent it out this morning... I know how crappy it must be for you. Its bad to be in a situation that your not happy with. And to tell ya the truth, Mentally its not healthy for you to be getting all worked up come Sundays before your workday on Mondays. Insurance is a major reason why people stay at jobs they are mistreated at for sure. Not to mention needing the money to live. All I can say to ya Monica is that you know you are worth more than that and being taken advantage of its right by no means. So when the opportunity comes to make a change... POUNCE on it and just TRY to be prepared as much as you can. Im sorry I have no direct answer for ya. Its hard I know. But also you need the change because of your health. Very unhealthy to be so so stressed... Hugs Margaret

Thanks Margaret, I think that even sometimes just knowing that you are not alone really helps. I am very extra sensitive right now. Because I am trying to get a date for my surgery, just starting to get over a cold, was just informed no raise for next year, got my womanly cycle, and I have an infected tooth. So just a weeee little bit sensitive. Not that you could tell or anything. HA HA HA... But thanks so much just for listening and reminding me. I am not alone in my quest in life. Hugs, Monica F.

Maybe there is something better out there for you. Have you tried polishing up your resume and putting it out there? Maybe it has nothing to do with you being extra fluffy. They could be just a lousy company. Don't assume it's you. Other companies have health insurance. Some have better coerage than one you have. Your anger is using a lot of energy. Have you thought about putting it to good use. I care. Loris

That is very true. Just right now I am right before surgery and I think I am going to stick it out until after surgery. But since you mentioned that I am going to start looking to see whats out there for me Hugs, Monica F.

Monica, I'm sorry to hear that you hate your job, weighing 539lbs I totally know what you mean. When I was in high school (just a little over two years ago!) I worked at a grocery store and then at Subway. I HATED them both!! After I graduated high school I worked at a daycare making $5.15 an hour with no benefits. I liked my job, but the pay wasn't worth the stress. I opted out on college because of my size and I was afraid I'd never find a good job! Then last year my prayers were answered! In August of 2004 I got hired as a 911 Dispatcher and I love it! It's even helped raise my confidence because my supervisor says I'm one of the best dispatchers we have and that means a lot to me. I also make good money and have benefits. My insurance covers WLS, but we're still checking to see if it covers DS or not. Having a job that I love is priceless and I wish you all the luck in the world finding one that's right for you. *hugs* If you ever want to talk feel free to email me!! Love, Dannielle
