I have been reading profiles tonight. The main theme I see on almost everyone is the way they get jerked around by EVERYONE.Drs. insurance, assistants and seretaries.Any one who could help us if the wanted to.I'll just bet, that if we had anything else life threatening wrong with us their response would be totally different. In Jan. 2004 my dh was taken to the ER after he passed out at home. This was on a Thursday nite,Fri. morn heart cathe,Monday morning 4x by pass, and home on following Monday. Eveerything he needed was snap, snap, snap. Whoever was suppose to take care of it ,did right away. Thank God!! I'm just saying we have a life threatening diease also, soooooooooo, why do we have to jerked around so much? They certainly did not expect him to bang his head against a wall for years or go on a supervised diet for six months to reduce his cholesterole(sp). To prove that he could or th reduce risks of surgery or anathesia or whatever. Ok, time for me to shut up and get off here.HUGS to all of you. We just got to remember to "Git Er DONE". LOL Carol

Hey Carol: "Larry the cable guy" makes fun of people of size, so I stopped saying git er done, lol. I am sick to ** it of being one of the last kinds of people to be discriminated against. I'm glad I have gotten more out spoken since I have lost some of my size. But even if I was 90 pounds I would speak up about the treatment we receive. My pre op stuff was about 90% good, and I made sure the few who made it difficult or dropped the ball knew about it, and I also made sure the helpful ones were commended. This helps others traveling behind me and it made me feel good too. Medical personnel can do better by people of size... it should not all be office politics and just getting around to stuff. It helps when we are educated about what needs to be done and being assertive too. Blessings all, Tina
