Hello from Farmville NC... Newbie to this forum... (Long.. please forgive..)
First off.. please permit me to introduce myself.. 
I am Nelle Parker.. I am 50 yrs. old and a definite SMO, but in other circles called a Supersized BBW. I have never been married and have been a big gurl all my life... Entered this world at 9lbs. 8oz. and haven't been small not once.. For most of my life I have been able to do pretty much what I wanted.. but with everything... age and life and health catches up with you... so now I am physically disabled and starting on this journey to a new and longer life. I wanted to share with you what is currently happening with me...
WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!! 
I have been accepted by Dr. Chapman as a candidate for surgery. 
I began my official journey this afternoon with my first pre-op testing. I had my chest xrays, ekg and abg done. I was told that I will get a letter next week with the rest of my testing outlined and any appointments that have been made. Dr. Chapman was proud and very pleased with the 17 lbs. weight loss since my orientation. He wants me to continue so that surgery will go smoothly. He stated that all my pre-op testing should be completed by the time that my 6 month diet is done.. then it will be the decision meeting and submitting my information to Medicaid. My day was going great until I got home. The 
is alive and trying to bring me to the depths of despair... 
I have just gotten approved for SSI the first part of this month... and haven't even received my first monthly benefit (October 1). I get a letter of redetermination on my medicaid due to the fact that SSA has notified them that my SSI is being stopped or suspended. I know that I received a call from SSA on 9/16/05 requesting some information and letting me know that they were working on my SSA application and that no decision had been made. At the time and since, I kinda found the conversation strange in that the lady asked me questions like what is today's date, what is today's day and who the President of the USA was. Well, I figured ok... guess she is checking to see if I have all my marbles 
in the same bag because I got the impression she might have thought I was not capable of handling my own affairs. Anywho... last week I got the official award letters telling me about my SSI... and now today, this... SO, it' for me to do 
battle in the morning to see what is going on... but I know that the isn't going to win... the Good Lord has brought me too far... So, everyone, keep me in your prayers and ask the warrior 
to give a couple of

Hi Nelle and Welcome to the Group.
I am fairly new myself and I have to tell you that so far everyone here has been fantastic. They are a lively bunch with lots and lots of support to offer which is one of the things about this group that I find so appealing. I know you love the group as much as I do.

Hang it there... I know it is very hard to get all the crap done that is needed and just know you are not by yourself. If you read half the profiles on the message board you will see that we all have had stupid things going on from time to time but just know we are here to yak with ya and make your day a lil better..
