I'm going Home for Christmas....

I know it's kinda silly but I haven't been home in almost 2 yrs...I haven't been to the Mainland at ALL in almost two years so I am soooo HAAAAPPPYYY!! I get to see my mom and dad and my nephew and my best friends new baby...all of my family!! What a pick me up!! My great Aunt called out of the blue yesterday and said I'm sending you 4,000.00 to fly home for Christmas. I swear I nearly fell over in the floor!!! The only stipulation is she doesn't want me to tell anyone in my family, it has to be a TOTAL surprise and I'm about to burst so I HAD to share the news with my SMO sisters (and brothers) I'm sure in Georgia it won't be a White Christmas but it sure is gonna be a HAPPY ONE!!! Yes it is and I kept saying I can't accept that its too much and she kept saying you'll hurt my feelings...soooo long story short I'm going home. I feel kinda funny when people give me extravagant (Sp?) gifts like this one. I don't want to be rude and refuse but I feel kinda guilty when I accept it.

Don't feel guilty. My in-laws have the money and are generous with gifts. They like to be. When the check arrives, send your aunt a very sweet thank you note. They mean a lot to people her age. After the trip frame a nice picture of the group and send it to her. She will be thrilled. Hugs, Loris

Hello Jamie! When is your surgery date and what part of Georgia are you going to? I was born in Valdosta, Ga. and I also have family that lives there! I miss my family very much! I have been residing in New York (Bronx) for the past 31 years now and my two brothers live in Florida and they want me to move down there where they are so that way we can be close to each other! I am seriously thinking about it because I really miss them so much and I want to go and see my family in Ga. I want to go see them after I have my surgery and lose some weight!

Hi Marie, I am from Savannah, Ga. I was born in Easton, MD but raised in Savannah so I guess you could say I'm a southern girl.. Its funny when your far from home you really miss it!! I can remember when I was younger just wanted to get the Heck outta dodge and now I'd do anything to go back??!! I don't have a surgery date yet but my surgeon consult is on Halloween so I'm hoping by the beginning of the new year I'll know something. Everything is crossed!!

Jamie, That is soooo awesome. I know exactly how you feel because it's been about 2 1/2 years since I've been home to see my whole family 8 siblings. My mom and a sister have been out to see me a couple of times, its just that with work and school schedule it's hard to find the time and energy to get back. I'm going to Colorado the last week in October, just before my surgery. I'm so home sick I can't stand it. I am excited for you and trust me the surprise thing will be such a special gift to your family. That was such a nice gesture from your aunt. Kim

That is so great Jamie!!! Dang girl, does your aunt need another neice ..... Im avaliable. Nothing like the family at Christmas. I am a fanatic about the holidays. I have only one daughter that has a hard time getting home so I always buy her a ticket to fly from san antonio. She is the baby and the only one thats not married and goes to college there and is a massage therapist. I start bouncing off the wall over Christmas right before Thanksgiving starts.lol So I know what that means to you.HO HO HO Came early so enjoy it... just shshshshsh dont tell anyone lol. hugs margaret
