I hope I didn't blow it!

Hi everybody, I went to my pcp to have my last of the 6 -month medically supervised diet (monday morn) I got all my medical records from the past 6-months...a diet record form for each of the 6-months and a 2 page letter from my pcp. My hubby was with me because he had blood-tests to do in the lab there for his diabetes. After I was done with my appointment, my DH asked me if I wanted to stop and get copies for my own records..I told him no..that all the surgeons insurance girl had to do was fax the info today....I just wanted this to be over as quick as possible. We got to the surgeon's office, and the gal at the desk informs me that the person who has handled my case all this time (since January) is no longer working for the dr. and the new girl was out to lunch. Have you ever wished that you would've done something differently...but acted on the spur of the moment???? Well, I should had parked my big SMO butt down in that office till the new girl got there. Now I'm playing phone-tag with a new office gal who probably has no clue what situation that we had worked out with the insurance company....And I have NO copies in case somebody messes-up along the way!!! Why does this have to be sooooo hard??? Oh, and by the way.....the new girl over my case will be "assisting paitents" Tuesday and won't be returning calls till Wednesday. O.k. Paitence is a virtue....It doesn't happen to be one of mine though. Thanks for letting me vent. I guess I'm waiting for things to get easier and I guess it's just not happening..not yet anyway. I know how you feel! I had a couple frustrating things happen to me when I got finished with the 6 month diet, and I was so upset because the end of that 6 months was supposed to be IT!!! Just be tough, call the girl 2-3 times a day if you have to, or go back in there and wait for her. Show her you mean business. You are worth it! Be that squeaky wheel!! I know it's hard cuz I'm normally very mousy and timid but surprised myself a couple of times along this journey so far! Good luck and please keep us posted! Hugs back at ya - Carol V.

oh oh virginia. you have one of THOSE clouds hanging over you. it's murphy's law, isn't it, that if something can go wrong, it will, and at the worst possible time. but since you can't change the past, i agree with previous post, just let the new person know what you've been through and what you expect. i'm sure she'll be more than willing to cooperate. good luck dorthe

Hi Dorthe and everybody, Thanks for responding to my post. You are so right..I can't go back in time to change things.....so why beat myself up over it??? Do I sound like a SMO lady who has weighed over 200 lbs for over 20 years?? Low self-esteem..putting too much trust in others, cause after all...they must know better than I do??? Do I sound like I have issues??? I am so tired of having to deal with these people. I guess it's time once again to "hurry-up and wait"and cross my fingers that everybody does their job right..I hope, I hope,I hope! Hugs Virginia

Poor Virginia! I hope that this is just a minor set back and come Wednesday all is corrected and you are well on your way again. Hi Virginia I just wanted to stop in and say hi Sorry you have hit another rough spot on your journey, but in the end it will all be worth it for ya! As others have stated don't beat yourself up over it what's done is done, but you can call them repeatedly till you get an answer and know the papers were sent! Take care, Anita
