update on dh

JUST WANT TO SAY HI AND THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND WARM WISHES. I BROUGHT DH HOME FROM HOSPITAL TONIGHT. HE WILL BE RETURNING NEXT WEEK SOMETIME FOR HIS SURGERY. BECAUSE OF HIS HEART SURGERY IN 2004 HE TAKES PLAVIX, TO THIN HIS BLOOD AND TO KEEP IT FROM CLOTTING.SURGEON WANTS HIM OFF THIS FOR AT LEAST 10 DAYS BEFORE HE CUTS HIM. THAT WOULD PUT HIM TO SATURDAY THIS WEEK. HE ALSO MUST SEE A PULMONOLOGIST BEFORE SURGERY,BECAUSE HE WEEZES. MOSTLY IN HIS THROAT FROM SOMETHING THAT HAPPEN WHEN THEY TUBED HIM DURING HIS HEART SURGERY. ANYWAY, HE IS FEELING BETTER AND WILL BE HOME FOR A FEW DAYS. MUCH EASIER FOR ME. PLUS I CAN GET CAUGHT UP ON HOUSEWORK AND LAUNDRY.OH JOY,JOY. THINK I'LL GO TO BED AND SEE IF I CAN SLEEP TONIGHT. HUGS AND LOVE TO ALL OF YOU . CAROL

hi carol. i'm glad to hear that, so far - so good. i'm also very glad you're getting yourself some rest, too. being the caregiver is not easy. i'll keep both you and him in my prayers. in the meantime, enjoy having him around - and believe me, it's not always easy to enjoy having the dh around, if you know what i mean. hugs dorthe

Dear Carol, My heart goes out to you this morning. These doctors know what they are doing, but it sure is hard seeing your loved one in pain and uncertainty with his health. Unfortunately, things like laundry and paying the bills doesn't go away. I'll give you a tip that I think is fantastic in your situation especially. When my sister's hubby was ill, a friend of hers brought over paper plates...you know, the strong "hefty type" plates and paper cups too. The lady must had bought them from Costco or Sam's club because it was mass quanities. That thoughtful and very practical gift was kinda questioned at first , but turned out to be the best idea...it helped my sister concentrate on what was really important, and yes, she did go through every single last plate and cup..so she went back for more! I think that should help you out..and kinda cut-out some of your household "back-up" Take care, Keep us posted. Hugs, Virginia
