new to this board

Hello all. I didnt even realize that this site had different categories, so i have posted on the main one. I have decided to go forward with getting the surgery so that I can live. I have a 7 year old son who needs me, and at the rate I am going, he probably wont have me for much longer. I am so uncomfortable with my weight now (approx. 300 lbs- and I am 5'4"). I need al the support I can get. I think that everyone is supportive of me in my family, even though they are really concerned because of the horror stories. Anyway, just thought I would introduce myself and say hi. I am so glad that you are all here.

Welcome! I also am new to this message board. I didn't know it existed either. Good luck with your surgery. I am about 6 months out, that's not long, but if you have any questions feel free to ask away. I'm sure there are plenty of others here that can help you as well. Brenda
