Denied.... AGAIN!!!!!!!

Ruth, I'm SO sorry they did this to you. I have Cigna too, And my surgoen told me to send Cigna the diet history that I wrote in my book. I did NOT want to send them my only book so I sat here and typed it all, then printed it out for Cinga. I also had other doctors write letters for me to send to Cigna, The letters said WLS was needed to improve my heath. I had the doctor that treats me for sleep apena, the doctor that treats me knees, my Cancer doctor, my PCP sent in all HIS stuff that he had about the diet he put me on. I seen him every month for 6 months and made sure he wrote all the stuff down. They all sent letters to the surgoen and after he got all of this he sent it all to Cigna. I was approved and I was lucky, took 2 weeks for approval. Good Luck, I'll keep you in my prayers, Karen

OH RUTH DON'T GIVE UP HON FIGHT IT WITH ALL YOU HAVE! I HATE INSURENCE COMPANIES THAT DON'T PAY FOR WLS WISH THEY COULD JUST WALK ONE DAY IN ARE SHOES AND THEY WOULD KNOW WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK IN THE WORLD!

Ruth, Not to discourage you but it took me years to get Cigna to approve me... if you want you can read about it on my profile. However, they WILL approve WLS evetually if they feel backed up againsts a wall. For your diet documentation, all you have to do is go to the doctor for 6 months and MAKE SURE they write in your chart that they talked about your diet/weight. They made me do a year of documented diet and STILL denied me... Hang in there and keep believing that you WILL get your surgery! HUGS Patti
