FIRST DAY OF NOV.. 5 QUESTIONS!!!
1)DO YOU DO THE BIG SHOPPING THING THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING?
*** Never! I hate crowds, especially the blood thirsty people who will kill you to get the latest "gotta have or I'll just die" toy for their kid. Yikes
2)SO YOU DO THE COOKING AT HOME OR GO AND SCARF OFF OF SOMEONE ELSE LOL?
*** Between my mother and mother-in-law (depending on what state we're in) they usually have Thanksgiving covered. I have never had to host a dinner, but I always bring a dish or two to where ever we end up going.
3)WHAT IS YOUR MAIN DISH YOU LOVE TO EAT AT THANKSGIVING?
***Some people call it stuffing others call it dressing either way its the best there is, especially from inside the turkey.
4)ARE YOU BIG ON TRADITIONAL MEALS FOR THANKSGIVING OR COOK ANYTHING?
***Traditional all the way at my mother's house which I personally like best. Cajun cuisine is usually served at my in-laws, which consists of stuffed pork roast, rice and gravy, gumbo and etoufee's (different but still really good.)
5) DO YOU PUT YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE UP RIGHT AFTER THANKSGIVING?
*** No not right after, usually by the end of the first week of December, and it always comes down the day after New Year's.
1) DO YOU DO THE BIG SHOPPING THING THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING?
I have before and LOVED it, but haven't had a chance to in the last couple of years. I've been to the Blitz sale at Wally a few times don't think I'd do that again though...
2)SO YOU DO THE COOKING AT HOME OR GO AND SCARF OFF OF SOMEONE ELSE LOL?
I do it and if I'm home I go to my mom's and help. Every year my dad says "that's it I'm tired of you cooking in this kitchen all day and cleaning it up all night..Next year we're going out.." and every year my mom pulls out the big turkey pan and makes her famous pumpkin pie and we/they enjoy each and every bite!
3)WHAT IS YOUR MAIN DISH YOU LOVE TO EAT AT THANKSGIVING?
TURKEY..Yummmiiiieee, pumpkin pie runs a close second, and dressing and cranberries are tied for third!!
4)ARE YOU BIG ON TRADITIONAL MEALS FOR THANKSGIVING OR COOK ANYTHING?
I'm a very traditional person. We have turkey, cranberries, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, gravy and dressing, sauerkraut, pumpkin pie and sweet potato pie..occasionally someone will buy a Honey Baked Ham.
5) DO YOU PUT YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE UP RIGHT AFTER THANKSGIVING?
No we ususally go and pick it out and then wait for a few weeks. My dad has to go through this whole ritual. We pick it out ( all of us kids still run through the tree lot like we are little, I am 29, my sister is 22, and my brother is 27), he chops it down, we drag it home and he saws on it some more and sticks it in a bucket of water for a few days and then FINALLY we get to bring it in and decorate...with carols playing. When we were little my parents gave each of us a ball and wrote our name and date on it. I did the same with my kids. My dad had a ball from 1955 when he was born but it was broken last year by my nephew I think. This will be my first Christmas at home with my parents since we moved to Hawaii and I am soooo excited..Can you tell I'm a mama's girl??

1) DO YOU DO THE BIG SHOPPING THING THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING?
I did once, NEVER AGAIN! I was up at the store at 5:30am and everything I wanted was gone anyway!
2)SO YOU DO THE COOKING AT HOME OR GO AND SCARF OFF OF SOMEONE ELSE LOL?
go to dads
3)WHAT IS YOUR MAIN DISH YOU LOVE TO EAT AT THANKSGIVING?
sweet potatoes and squash
(with LOTS of butter and brown sugar)
4)ARE YOU BIG ON TRADITIONAL MEALS FOR THANKSGIVING OR COOK ANYTHING?
traditional
5) DO YOU PUT YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE UP RIGHT AFTER THANKSGIVING?
I like to but don't always get to it
1... I avidly avoid crowds. I don't like being pushed around. I don't like feeling cramped. I can't handle having people I don't know touching me. As much as I love to shop and love a good deal there is no way on god's green earth that I'll be out shopping on that day.
2. This year we are going to a pot luck. Its going to have some foods that I can munch on. I plan on having a few oz of turkey, a few bites of potatoes and gravy and maybe some cranberryy sauce.
3. I used to really like stuffing, I haven't had a thanksgiving since surgery. I don't know what I'll like. I did however find a recipe for sugar free pumpkin cheese cake.
4. I like traditional holdiay meals. I think its a good time to get family together.
5. I think we'll wait till the first week of December to actually get the tree up.
