Oh dear Willby I feel your pain!!! I had my JP out last Friday before I left the hospital - now I had two surgeries so that baby was in there 2 weeks rather than one!!! The surgeon took it out thank goodness, I didn't want a nurse doing it. It DID feel like a snake being pulled out my innards! The only thing holding me back from a great yell was the surgeon was so close I was afraid I'd knock him over! Yeowie that felt wierd and hurt, of course I am a pretty big baby. It's amazing how good your belly feels with that out of there!!! I do still have a drain in, coming from my old stomach from the complication that I had, but it's a much smaller tube, I'm not so worried about that coming out. It should be taken out Monday if all continues to go well. I see people mentioning Gatorade, I haven't had that at all - is there a sugar free one or were you drinking the regular one? Well I have a helpful recipe for your pureed stage, which I am on now. I made some really good chicken yesterday in the crock pot. I cut up 3 boneless chicken breasts into chunks, a can of cream of celery soup (you could probably use any soup), 1/4 cup low sodium chicken broth, salt, pepper, garlic powder. Stir that all together real good and cook on low about 7 hours, till the chicken is done. Then I stirred in about a half a bag of thawed frozen cauliflower, let that cook, then stir in some low fat cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup skim milk. It made a nice juicy chicken with lots of sauce so when I pureed it, it was great! Hope you have a nice JP-free day! Carol V

i have been watching these boards for about 2 months or more and love your name. i had surgery about the same time. they took my jps out after 5 days as i was leaving hospital. that is truly a wierd feeling. still got the stomach one but if i am a good boy that should come out next monday. my second week is called full liquid and it lets me have yogurt, pudding and cream of rice/wheat, nice upgrades after broth. hanging in there and lost 14 so far. i weigh once a week at the damn feed store. hope that changes soon. love dave

Dave, Thank you! OH!!......yogurt,cream of wheat and pudding will never taste so good in your whole life. Its like manna from heaven. Congrats on your 14 pound weight loss. Our scale here at home only goes to 280 and then spins around again(talk about mecahnical malfunction!) I'm going to "TRY" to not get weighed except at the docs office.
