Please help do to all the stress of the surgery (and the fact that I am also a big baby when it comes to pain) I have developed a case of shingles (and I am not talking about the kind you put on your roof.) I am past the point of blister and they are healing fine but he pain is something else. I am having a hard time sitting standing walking laying down and just about everthing else due to the pain. Seeing as the developed on my back you can understand why it is had to do everthing. Please please does anyone know of anything to help with the pain. I don't want to go back to the doctors so please anything but that.

Oh Jeremy they are painful My father gets them sometimes. Try pain acetamiophen , aspirin or ibuprofen to help the pain. Did your Doctor give you any pain meds? Gosh I hope so!

Jeremy, ouch! My suggestion is to ask at the drugstore for some over the counter lotion or cream AND some suggestion of pain meds like asprin. NO if you can't get to the drug store... try warm shower.. that should help bring them to a head and burst and then heal. The ones you can touch you might try putting alittle tooth paste on it, as that is good for a bee sting and boils??? It could be a reaction to something form the hopital like alergic reaction... you could call the wls doctors office to find out if this is something to think of. I also have used hydrogen proxide to take the pain away and heal the wounds - it kinda numbs... but you should ask the drugstore if this is ok, as some things might make it worse. IMPORTANT first ask the drugstore (even over the phone) for OK. thinking of you.... ~*~ Pam

hi jeremy: i understand you don't want to call the dr but pls, pls do so anyway. shingles hurt and being post op limits our options for pain relief. when my daughter had them at age 2, we gave her oatmeal baths, and lots of calomine lotion, along with pain medication. good luck. i'll say a prayer. hugs dorthe

Hi Jeremy.... Please call the DR.... PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone means well... and different doc's have different rules but as far as I have been told you can NOT have Ibuprofen or Aspirin!!! Your doc can tell ya what's safe and maybe prescribe something topical. He can call it in... Let us know what happens and I do hope and pray you're feeling better soon!!!!
