Great questions Chik! 1. How long have you had a weight problem? All my life. First diet was at age 13. 2. Who has been your biggest cheerleader?? My SMO friends! 3. Who has been the biggest pain in the butt over this surgery? Family. They just don't understand. 4. What was the hardest part of all the pre-op requirements you had to meet or still have to meet?? Not having any guidance or direction given by the surgeon/hospital. Incompetent staff... repeatedly lost paperwork/clearances. Waiting... waiting... waiting... waiting... 11 months and counting... 5. Do you feel that just by learning about this surgery...that your views on food and yourself have changed?? Yes. I have to learn to eat to live, not live to eat. And that I am not alone in all of this. Huggs, Ruth

How long have I had a weight problem? Since age four, when I broke my arm and spent the winter indoors, doing 'quiet' things. Who has been my biggest cheerleader? My mom, most definitely! Biggest pain in the butt over this surgery? A thin friend who was all gung-ho pre-op, but now is giving me a butt-load of grief because now I've got a handle on my weight, but he's STILL an alcoholic. Sheesh! Hardest part? Honestly, none of it has been really hard. No problems with insurance, no pre-op requirements that I didn't already meet, and even surgery itself hurt less than I'd expected. Learning about surgery HAS changed my views on food a lot---and so has FitDay.com. It's also made me realize that, while I DID overeat pre-op, I did NOT over-eat enough to have caused someone with a 'normal' meatbolism to reach 395 pounds. It really WASN'T 'all my fault', LOL!

1. How long have you had a weight problem? I weighed 212 going into high school 2. Who has been your biggest cheerleader?? My son 3. Who has been the biggest pain in the butt over this surgery? My sister 4. What was the hardest part of all the pre-op requirements you had to meet or still have to meet?? Getting approved 5. Do you feel that just by learning about this surgery...that your views on food and yourself have changed?? The day I got approved my mom said I was like a pea**** - no one had any ability to make me feel bad about myself. Yes I enjoy food that I know will likely never have again and other food I enjoy it and then say well old friend I'll see you in a year or so
