My Pouch Is Mad At Me!
good morning smores!
My pouch and I had a falling out last night. I told her to leave........but she wouldnt
I threatened to call the authorities
.........still nothing! The problem started when I accidentally ate the wrong kind of cheese on my little scrambled egg
I tried Colby. You know.......good old rubbery Colby. I guess I didnt "chew it good enough" (her words). I guess I "ate too fast"(her again) I spent the next 2 hours with the feeling of a huge rock in my throat
If you are reading this
..........being held hostage by little ms. grouchy-pouch!!! Send
help fast!!

LMAO! Im not laughing at you.. Im really laughing with you!! Honestly!! I had the same experience with Colby.. Pre-op I loved colby-jack... Now post-op, the thought of it makes me sick! It doesnt agree with me at all!! I gave up completely on the Colby... some things may taste good but they sure feel horrible.. Good luck..

Its all different for different people! Some people can eat anything and everything. Im not one of those people..
Bread!! One small bite of toasted bread and Im done for the day.. It makes me so sick and makes me feel so bad!! I cant even do the whole wheat tortillas.. they make me so sick!
You dont know how something is going to effect you until you try it.. so its trial and error.. live and learn!!
I can eat some things that others cant- fresh veggies are great with me.. But I cant handle fruits.. Fish, just the smell of any kind of fish makes me sick.. I cant even get a bite to my mouth without getting sick..
It horrible..
Just go slow and try different things.. you will figure out what works for you and what doesnt.. Its great when you find something that works, but horrible when something doesnt..
My personal favorite since surgery is baked cottage cheese with mozzerella, parm cheese and egg..
I love it!! but it doesnt work for everyone..
Good luck. if ya find something strange that is good let me know.. Im gettin tired of the same ole crap day after day..

Morning Willby.. i am soooo sorry for your mishap.. I would never have thought since it was a cheese, it would have hurt so bad. Another no-no for my list of what NOT to eat. Sure love getting information like that, but hate that you have to go through it first.. Hope your feeling better by now. I guess trial and error is the only way to learn huh? I heard sips of warm water makes it all better... Have you tried that yet?
Hugz...

Hi Elaine...
Dont use the no no list because everybody is different. My mom cannot eat chicken but I eat it every day.. she is allergic to whey protein and Im drinking one as I type... I was like fearful for awhile ( I ate yogurt and string cheese for two weeks) and my surgeon said STEPHANIE YOU MUST BREAK OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE... I had colby jack last night on a corn tortilla and its GOODDDDD!!!
Also I cant drink when I feel that way (after eating something that is not good) it makes me want to die if I try to drink on top of it.. it helps me to lie on my RIGHT side and pray for death for about 5-10 minutes... lol
Just trying to help
Thanks
Steph
Willby,
Im coming to your rescue. Just relax and your pouch will be released from the hostages. Remember, this is a lesson you will learn as time goes on. Some things will be better then others. STAY AWAY FROM COLBY. (At least for a little while). You can try it again in a few weeks and your pouch might accept it better. Thats how you learn what you can and cant do. Hang in there.
Love,
Grandma
Honestly, sometimes the best thing that can happen is a good throw up. If ms Grouchy-pouch doesn't ease up soon, try drinking some water and go in the bathroom and try to get it up. If you didn't chew well enough and your stoma is blocked, sometimes this is the only way to get relief. I would much rather puke than have the misery of waiting for hours for it to pass.
Hugs,
Dawn
