Hi everybody I was just noticing on my can of tuna that it is loaded with protien. I am not a big fan of tuna, but I can stand it if it has mayo and cheese. I know everyone is different, but I am just wondering how post ops have done with tuna mixed with mayo?I couldnt stand to eat it dry, but I also heard that high fat products could cause a bad reaction. Thanks for any input!

Mayo doesn't bother me, but everyone is different. A good alternative would be to use light mayo...normally Hellman's is my favorite, but I think JFG light mayo is the best of all the lights.

Tuna is great! Maybe you could get some low fat or fat free mayo? I use light mayo and think it's great. Hugs, Dawn

Hi Karen, I eat a lot of tuna fish - most of the time just plain on a salad with some shredded FF cheese, but if I mix it, for some reason I have always used Miracle Whip instead of mayo. I use the FF Miracle Whip, which I haven't had any problems with. But if you're going to mix it with something, I would definitely choose the low fat or FF variety as someone else mentioned. Another thing I have done is mix it with FF or light Ranch dressing; it wasn't too bad. Take Care, Tanja

Karyn, I've had no problems with mayo. I eat a lot of tuna fish now. I mix it with low fat miracle whip, cut up some onions and some pickles. I think it is great. Just go slow when you try it. Eat a small amount. Lori 384/278/170

i ate one of those little cans of tuna for lunch every days for probably 6 months. i added a little light ranch salad dressing. it didn't cause me any problems. and it was an easy thing to have at work for lunch. (although i'm pretty tired of tuna now!) deb -195

Well, I chose to have the DS, and I now only absorb about 19% of the fat I eat---so I eat full-fat mayo, cheese, salad dressing, you name it.
