Carmella, So interesting to hear what you all are eating. Since I have not had my surgrey yet, I have not begun anykind of food program. (I go on MOnday to see the doctor for the first time) I'm thinking... without any real knowledge (ha ha ha) that maybe your tummy might like to have a drink of water with the popcorn to sooth the corn as it goes down through your little pouch. I am sure it was fine with the little bit of egg, tiny bit of bacon and hardly enough to mention toast... but oh my the perperoni without liquid.... sreams danger to my tummy and I still have my BIG pouch! HA HA HA Now when you say you are working on drinking.... one might get the wrong idea.. you did mean your water... Right??????????? pam

Hi Pam!! One of the "rules" after surgery is NOT to drink a minimum of 30-45 min. before you eat, NOTHING while you are eating and ATLEAST 30 min. after you eat. Some surgeons want you to wait as long as an hour, before and after!!!!! This has to be one of the hardest things that I have had to get used to. And I struggle still at 5.5 months out. The reason for this? So you: 1. Don't fill up on fluids before you eat (before) 2. don't flush out your food while it's in your pouch (after) 3. feel full longer after you eat. 4. If you drink and eat at the same time, eventually this will cause you to eat more, becuase you are flusing all your food out. (during) Please remember this rule. I'm very anal about this one. You can take a sip during eating if you have to, but I try not too. And belive me, when I'm done eating, I watch the clock like a hawk!!!!! Take Care~~ Carmella PS.....I don't drink liquor, but sometimes I think I need too
