Thanks.... the sipping is hard, I have been trying to, so that it won't be so hard to adjust too...but it is kinda of hard to do after all these years..I am so happy for you, 67lbs thus far Also thanks for welcoming me to the board..

Hi friend! My name is Virginia and my surgery is going to be November 23rd (the day before Thanksgiving) I have no words of wisdom except..If God led you to it..he'll bring you through it. I am going in for my pre-op testing tomorrow a.m. soooooo If you hang in there..I'll hang in there too! Stick around here. There are plenty of good advise givers that are much more experienced than this chick. Take care! Virginia

Susan, so glad that you found the boards and this one is a very active one filled with many who care and lots of good friends. Since I have lots of white hairs.. I am full of wisdom! ha ha ha But wise enough to know my limits, as I have not had my wls yet. I think it is good to keep in perspective that all doctors have unique "rules" and guidelines for pre and post surgry. AND that each of us are unique and loose weight, react to surgry, and respond to foods in so many different ways. So I share this "wisdom" in that you might find patience in your journey and joy in your successes. hugs, Aunt Pam

Susan WELCOME!!!! I had my surgery 10/24. I wont kid you...........it was really hard for me at first. And when people told me it would"get easier" I wanted to them. But it has gotten easier. Every day I feel a little stronger. Do you have all of your pre-op testing done? Are you having RNY open or Lap? come back often!! willby

Hello I went today for all my pre-opt testing..everything was great. I met the sweetest lady who had the surgery 18 months ago and looks FABLOUS!! She was my PFT tech. I am having the RN Lap..I am just so excited I told my husband that I could just up a storm!! Thanks so much for the wonderful welcome. good luck to you also and God Bless.

Susan, The only advice I can offer is to follow your surgeon's instructions to the letter. There is a reason they take you through the different food stages. It helps you pouch heal properly. In the meantime, go off caffeine (if you are addicted--I was to Diet Coke). You don't want to have caffeine withdrawals while you are in the hospital. Write to us anytime, we love to help.
