Hi Keri. I don't know about anybody else but my doc told me no more than 10 pounds the first month. I don't have and children but have a 10 year old little dog who is used to sleeping and jumping on my stomache. That has been so hard for her since I have to sleep on my back right now, lol. Good Luck. Veronica

Hi Keri, My doc said no lifting over 5 pounds for 3 months. Could you possibly start to prepare him now? Although he's a little guy, if you start explaining that the doc is going to be helping you get better soon, you'll have some booboo's (or whatever your family calls them ) and you won't be able to carry him for a while he may be used to the idea when the time comes. My youngest is 10 and he is a MOMMA'S BOY big time. He told me just before surgery that he liked me fluffy and didn't want the doctor to change that. Man, I love kids! I hope all works out well for you! Brenda

Keri, Hi my name is Connie and I have a game that you play with your toddler til you have surgery. I know what you mean about worry as I also have a two year old momma's boy. Before I had surgery we played the game called lets be Mommy's Big Helper. The way you play is simple start by asking him to pick up small things from the floor as mommy can not bend that far and if he does it then move on to something bigger like can you show me how my big boy will climb up in my lap since mommy can't pick you up with her owie and just play it over and over. Couple of things i did as rewards for my son not hurting me when he got in my lap was like I would do a load of laundry and then use big salad tongs to reach the clothes out and he loved to put them in the dryer I was doing this 4days after surgery as I am single parent and had very little help from my family or sometimes he just wanted to see my owie for himself to know it was getting better because he was so careful with me and taking good care of me. As far as him sleeping with you thats all good we all do it but my son sleeps with me but after my surgery I would try lie with him on the bed til he was asleep then I got in my chair it was easier for me to get him at night or for me to get up if I needed something. The biggest problem for me was bath time my sister had to bathe my son everyday for the first 4 weeks cause it hurt to bad to get down that low then have to pull yourself back up when the job was done. I hope this helps and if I can answer anymore questions for ya give me a shout. I have 2 and 4 boys. But everything will be fine. Peace, Connie
