Uhhhh, BM question......
Carmella,
This is important. I would take a laxative. Benefiber works more on a daily basis to keep you regular. I take it every day. A daily bowel movement really indicates a healthy bowel.
Good luck!
Lori
P.S. I've talked about bowel movements more with other WLS patients in the past 6 months then I ever have in my life. It is one of our realities.
hi carmella:
had to answer this one - i've been having such issues with this i'm almost starting to feel like i have a professor of poopology degree.
8 days is a long time to not be going. i went for eight days between bm's after my most recent surgery (hysterectomy last week) and i was taking colace, psyllium, lots of fluids, you name it...
i would recommend a correctol or some gentle laxative to clear up what's currently in your system, then i would start with a softener of some sort - my obgyn recommends colace.
your issues are probably different than mine but thought i'd let you know what might work for you and is, sort of, working for me. i've also gotta have a rectocele repair done but that will be another surgery so it's gonna have to wait awhile and i'll be treating the situation i have with whatever it takes to keep from getting constipated to begin with.
hope this helps. hope, too, that you find some relief soon. if not, please check with your dr. if you wait too long it can cause other issues.
hugs
dorthe
Hi Carmella,
I don't know if this will help you, but I can tell you that I was having it myself and I am just a few weeks out of surgery.
So the other day I wanted to get some new types of protien. I went and got one can of Stallone's protien pudding - well in about an hour I was running to the bathroom.
But if you are really concerned _ I would take something to help you go.
Take Care & let us know how you are,
Monica F.
