It is very normal not to be able to tell if you are full. You will be able to tell if you overeat becasue you will hurt. Follow your guide lines. You will get used to not being able to drink after meals. It takes a little time. I wish you much success. Loris

Marlena, I know what you mean. I'm almost 1 month out and I'm still confused. Am I hungry? Is it time to eat? Am I full? sometimes it makes me I havent lost enough weight yet to be glad I had this surgery. Some days I wish i hadnt done it. How do you feel? willby

Hi Marlena I too have had a hard time with this but I have noticed since I'm able to have pudding and yogurt and cottage cheese its a lot easier to figure out when I can start drinking again after a meal. Good luck. Take care, Anita

Hi Marlena!!! Girl, I'm just shy of 6 months out and I struggle with not drinking before, after or during eating. It gets easier. (But not much!!!) Some days I watch every minute go by until I can have a drink and then other days, it's not so bad. I haven't felt "hungry" in my pouch for 6 months, and I love it. I'm scared as hell for that feeling to come back. I still fight head hunger. Thats when I have to check it and make sure I'm truly needed something to eat or if it's head hunger. Best of Luck!~~ Carmella

Marena, you need that liquid... how about setting a timer for 1/2 hour or hour after you eat then again to remind you when you need another drink. hugs, Aunt Pam

same issue here, marlena. i'm so used to drinking with every meal, i literally tell myself the time i stopped eating and figure when it's ok to drink again. sometimes i set a timer so i don't focus on it so much, then the time flies by. as for drinking while eating - i had to make do with tiny sips at first - then going to nothing at all to drink. i'm still not 100% compliant, but doing my best, that's all i really expect of myself. good luck. dorthe
