First, Texas, welcome, and I'm glad you're out of lurk mode.
I know what you mean about this being a different kind of weight and we SMOs might need to adjust our expectations and goals. I have lost 155 pounds and I'm still obese.
But I have seen people on the main message board who are my height and weigh 250 pounds who are desperate for WLS.
When I started this journey, I just wanted to get below 300, the weight at which I would be able to exercise and generally get around more easily. When I got down to 250 pounds, I was ready to do cartwheels!
About slipping back into bad habits, here's what works for me: 1) count calories, using fitday.com; 2) exercise again; 3) exercise; and 4) exercise some more.
