WHERE'S VIRGINIA PETRY?????????????

HEY VIRGINIA!!!! JUST WONDERING WHERE YOU ARE! MISS YOUR POST!!!

Hi Sandra, Thanks for asking about me. I'm not lost...just pretty busy trying to tie-up loose ends for my Wednesday A.M. gastric by-pass surgery. I was feeling kind of anxious....so I thought I'd get my packet out and read-up on the details of my post surgery liquid diet and the lovely "bowel cleansing party" on Tuesday. I quickly fell asleep after the first 3 pages or so...just like I usually do when I try to read something intense while my body is in a horazontal mode! I am excited for my surgery/new life....yet I am also keenly aware of how the world revolves around FOOD! I mean.....if you go out to socialize...where do you eventually end-up???? eating food!!!! It's everywhere people!!! Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas..THANKSGIVING!!! Now, don't think I have gone off the deep-end. All these things were covered in the required "classes", it just really feels different when you are standing here staring it in the face of sorts. I am going through with this...I have waited too long and jumped through too many hoops (Thank you insurance company) I can't turn back now.....Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers coming my way..I really appreciate all of you guys..YOU'RE AWSOME!!!! I have thought about you alot today, hubby and I were on a motorcycle toy run in the verde valley,,,and like you said, it all culminated in food,,,bbq beef and beans, etc,,,i figured I would enjoy it, as I start my liquid diet on Nov 30th,,,again!! LOL Have you had to be on a liquid diet?? I wonder why some of us do,and some don't??? hummmm I met up with a lady named Mary, in Cottonwood today,,at the end of the run, and she had surgery in August, and she is down almost 70 pounds,,,awesome huh?? I am not looking forward to the bowel party,,,it was all I could do to handle the upper GI.... Vee

Hi Vee!!! How neat that you and your hubby do that toy run!! We got lousy luck having surgery done during the holidays right??? I did not have to go on a liquid diet. The day before...which for me is Tuesday, I do a lite breakfast..then at 11:30 pm take that bowel cleaning junk From then on....it is all liquids till midnight..and the rest is history. I met a lady this week-end who had the surgery too. It is so cool to see a real-life sucess story isn't it??? I can't wait till Thursday..yes, that's the day after the surgery..if you know what I mean. Good luck on the liquid diet..I don't know why some docs have you do it.. and some don't. Maybe it's some kind of training to see if we got what it takes to be successful. Take care Vee..Hang in there...and I will too! Hugs Virginia

THERES Ginger!!! Hi! Oh GF......I dont envy you that bowel prep. its pretty oogedy. Just dont get the lemon-ginger one. i'm still having nightmares about that!! Now, about the food. My Birthday was last thursday(Thank You again!!) and my family had pizza and cake. i had chicken noodle soup. I felt pretty sorry for myself. But then I just told myself"Bridget, youve had cake and pizza before, you know what it tastes like" .......That helped a little bit. Hi Wilby/Bridget You are sooo welcome! When I read the post about how you had a Raggedy Ann shelf....I knew just what to send ya! My heart really is into the original R.Ann and Andy sets. I used to make them..but I couldn't mass produce them as quickly..but all my nieces have theirs (what can I do..I have no girls) oh...yeah, I did make them Andys..but they traded those in for GI-Joes very quickly. I guess I can't compete with war,plundering and pilaging (is that a word?) Anyways, how far is Pittsberg from where you live? Quite a drive? Good luck on your 1 month check-up..go get em Wilby!!!
