Hi all I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow for my 6 month post-op check up (one month late) I am preparing myself for my well deserved lecture I know he will be giving me abou****er intake. I was doing really well getting all of my water in, but then I re-discovered my diet pepsi's and coffee. What are some of your rule breakers since surgery? or if pre-op what are some of the harder things to not do? Have a great day all! Brenda

Brenda, I've stayed away from the diet cokes (that was my addiction preop) because I've been warned so heavily about carbination and regaining weight after WLS. But, I was also warned off caffeine and did go off of it and stay off of it for about 4 months, but, now I'm back on at least 2 cups of coffee a day. It does dehydrate me though, so I try to make up by drinking extra water. The other thing I eat that they don't want me to is popcorn. I don't recommend it to any one. It can become caught. I carefully chew mine, but still... Lori 384/274/170

My surgeon allows two cups of coffee a day. I enjoy every sip of it. I just bought a metal sign for my kitchen with the Starbucks logo that says we proudly serve Starbucks. LOL About once a month, I flatten a diet drink by pouring it back and forth between two glasses. Loris

I have a sign in my kitchen that says, "There's too much blood in my caffeine system."
