Yes I do have the sweetest daughter...of course she gets that from me!! It hasn't always been that way...Karyn will be the first to admit that she has spent the last several years miserable, grumpy, short tempered and withdrawn. I think we all know why. I know that underneath she is a loving, giving, beautiful woman and I feel confident that this side of her is emerging as she figures out that life is good when you feel good. Hi, Jeanine~ I'm near Utica, NY. One of my kids lives in Latham, and another in Ballston Spa. I guess I'm a newbie too. I made an appointment with a highly recommended doctor in Utica for Feb. 13. Now I have to do all my paperwork. I'm 58, 100 lbs. overweight, and have 7 health problems related to obesity. I'm really excited--kinda like finding out I'm pregnant!

Wow , they live close to me! Congrats on your decision to have the surgery. I am still researching and contemplating which is the best route for me. Right now I am on a diet pill my MD suggested and I have dropped 32 lbs on my own. Beleive it or not, what bothers me most about having the surgery is not being able to drinka a nice big glass of ice tea in the summer when I'm hot! I drink alot of water and to just "sip" now & then would drive me crazy!!. Right now I'm about 85 lbs overweight. I don't know if my insurance will allow me to have it without being 100 lbs over. Hey, I could eat alot of pumpkin pie! LOL . Keep us all updated on your surgery progress. I care!! Jeanine

Welcome Jeanine, You found the best board in the world. Welcome aboard and we are all here for the same reason. Pull up a chair and stay a while. And I love having more people my age here .
