Not new to OH though. I didn't even know about this forum I had RNY proximal on 7/18/05 and I am down -75 pounds. I am frustrated because I feel like it's not enough especially for being a SMO person starting out. I don't get why everyone is loosing faster than me. I'm scared I am not a fast looser or this surgery isn't working Am I the one it won't work for? sheesh I am obsessing. Anyhow, I am glad I found ya'll. Donna

Hi Donna! WELCOME to the 50+ board!!! Congratulations on your weight loss!! And no........youre not the only person in the world that WLS wont work for. That would be me!!!!!!!!!!! How about 5 pounds in 20 days???? Now, thats depressing! I hope mine picks up and I can drop 75 pounds. but at the rate I'm going.......I'll be dead of old age before I reach the 200's! Please come back often! take care willby

Welcome Donna, This is a great board. You will learn a lot. Just remember, this is not a race. You could NEVER lose 75lbs in 4mos going on a diet. Just remember that. It took me 5 1/2 mos to lose 100lbs and that is the pace you are on too. If you look at my profile you will see the sucess story, and I knew in my heart I was the only one that it wouldnt work for. We all think that. You are doing terrific. Dont beat yourself up or try to lose it any faster then you are. You didnt gain 75lbs in 4mos either. Great job, and keep it up. Hugs, Soos

Donna, The surgery is working! 75 lbs is a whole lot of weight. If you don't think so, go pick up a 50 lb bag of softener salt or something, then try to pick up a second one! Your body is thanking you! Hang in there, Lori 384/274/170

hey thanks everyone! I know I would have NEVER lost this much on my own, no how no way. I think it's more than the weight loss or comparing to others though, I am afraid I'm doing somthing "wrong". Somone posted on main board that they are down 100 pounds, and they are only 5 days ahead of me post op! Sheesh I don't get it. My labs say I'm doing well. B-12 Level is good (taking shots monthly) Protein level is normal, but is on the low end (6.7) iron is fine, everything is fine. I still struggle with lack of energy and don't sleep well despite my attempts to try every prescription sleep aid out there. I guess I am comparing myself and worried I went through all of this pain for nothing. Can anyone relate? Im sorry for whining, I am just working on accepting and being greatful for what I have, although it's not working well. Donna
