Hi every one I'm back update

Hello friends! I had my open RYN on November 2cnd, also hernia repair, and the ole gall bladder. I went in at 440 pounds, I was so scared. I was sooo happy to wake up (: I am blessed. I spent 2 days in ICU mainly due to my asthma, but I was doing good. Went into a room, and came home on the 7th. I had a J tube, and some other drain thingy..the j tube hurt. A couple days later, I was bleeding from the insicion yikeees I was so scared! I went to the ER and the did some tests, I had a staff infection on one of the rains..my surgeon came in and opened a portion of the insicion,...yuckkk yikkkesss it did not hurt but now it is a slow process getting it to close. I have the visiting nurses coming daily to pack the wound, I can't bare to look at it as it is grose. It needs to heal from the inside out. And it is healing , so I won't complain. Other than that and some extreme nausea at times I am doing good. I won't complain! I am so great full to be alive and on the loosing side. I weighed in at 402 yesterday..wow. 38 pounds I won't complain. I just started phase 3, I ate some tukey and cheese this am, some peanut butter and bannana and bite of watermellon snack, and 1/2 joesephs pita..well wrap with turkey little cheese and lite mayo and 2 grapes for dinner. I need one more meal, so I will eat the other half in an hour or so. Well, hope I didn't bore you to much! God Bless you all And Williby, thank you for checking in on me! Gloria

greetings gloria sorry to hear you've had some incision problems. i know about that "healing from the inside" thing. i, too, had an open rny. the top several inches of my incision pulled open and was this gaping wound for several weeks. i had to pack it with damp gauze 2 times a day...and it WAS definitely gross! but eventually, it all healed nicely, as i hope yours will too. congrats on the weight loss thus far! you are doing great! best to you. deb -203

Oh Gloria! You sure had a time with this surgery thing....but it looks like you got a three in one surgery...wls, hernia and gallbladder!! I'm glad you've got a nurse to come and look in on you. 38 pound down..good for you girl.. So glad you made it over to the looser side...save me a place! Hugs, Virginia
